Note – this position could be combined with another role.  For example, we’d love one of our Sauna Captains to also be a Lead Communicator or Maintenance & Logistics Lead.

1 - Move Saunas & Set Up / Take Down Space:  

-Drive our trucks and tow sauna trailers to and from our lots and operating locations.

-Setup and take down sauna space at the beginning and end of the day, respectively.

2 - Hosting Sauna Sessions – take care of our people, our saunas, and our space. 

Our People:

-Welcome and check in guests and create a warm, casual environment throughout sessions.  

-Shoot the shit.  Be friendly and hang out with our people throughout the session (as is appropriate).

-Be neighborly and answer questions from people passing by (within limits).  (Note – because we’re in public parks, we get a lot of the same questions, over and over, from people discovering Bywater. (“IS THAT A BARBECUE??”)  We’re looking for hosts who can patiently answer those questions, over and over, with enthusiasm.)


Our Saunas:  

-Start and maintain wood-fired stoves.

-Clean surfaces between sessions.  Deep clean at end of shift.


Our Spaces:  

-We effectively create a locker room space at the Park each day.

-Clean and maintain this space throughout shift.

-Pack up and leave the Park cleaner than we found it.

-Handle unexpected tasks with patience and care.

-Able bodied and skilled at physical labor – able to pick-up stuff weighing up to 50lbs, move various objects in an outdoor setting, etc.  

-Experience towing with a pickup truck a plus, but not required.  We can teach you.
