Our mission is to bring people together to improve their minds, bodies, and spirits. Our decisions and actions should be made in pursuit of this mission.

The most important part of Bywater is our relationships with people. With our members, our first timers, our staff. 

We seek to create warm places where everyone feels welcome.    

 

Iterate Towards Excellence 

Try things, learn, then do it better.  Repeat.

Excellence is an asymptote…it’s impossible to become “perfect” at anything, but it is possible to continuously improve.

Get ahead on tasks.  Help your teammates.  We’re throwing a party every hour!  Guests are arriving soon!  Giddy up.

Be financially wise & prudent with our expenditures so that we can take care of our team, our people, our communities.

Humility = knowing there’s much we don’t yet know and haven’t yet mastered.  

Confidence = knowing we have the ability to learn, improve, and achieve great things as a team.

Take Care of Yourself to Take Care of Others 

Eat before you’re hungry, drink before you’re thirsty.  Take care of yourself outside of work so that when you show up you’re ready to take care of others.

Do Hard Things,
Then Make it Easy for Us 

Taking saunas to beaches on a daily basis was hard (and borderline stupid) enough that no one else did when we started.  We then created systems and a team to make it easier.

Take the Work Seriously,
but Don’t take Ourselves Too Seriously  

Bywater is changing people’s lives and improving communities for the better.  It is important work.

And also, at the end of the day, we’re running a sauna business.  Have fun.
